  • Ok, I know I'm short, but....

...is it really that hard to see that you're about to walk right into me?

Twice this week now, I've almost had people crash into me. In both cases, I'm not even moving and I'm standing pretty far out of the way of pedestrian traffic (the first time was near some grass that was right in the middle of a good 20 feet of sidewalk on either side. The second was in the designated sitting area on the first floor of the building where my classes are). And, yet, people are still somehow almost tripping over me.

Like I said in the subject, I know I'm short (4 feet, 2 inches on a good day), but how exactly does one not see a purple wheelchair?

You're running in stealth mode. Drop the cloaking shield and you'll be ok.

Considering I have 25 inches on you, I have to admit that It would be very likely for me to accidentally bump into you in a semi-crowded area.

But that's just me, and i do try to avoid that sort of thing. :P

You're going invisible. Happens to me all the time. I once had a sales clerk at the counter in a store look right over my head and ask "OK, who's next?"

When I wanted some peace and quiet at home, I used to go sit quietly in a corner somewhere and think about being alone. Invariably, someone else in my family would walk by saying "I don't know where she is, she must have gone out, I've looked everywhere."

        What?? I'm weird, OK?

That's the SEP field at work. SEP = Somebody Else's Problem.

            I have one, myself.

Example: I was at a party and had sat myself on a couch and was playing with something (an Atari Lynx, I think it was) and my then-hubby came in and started looking around. So I waved at him. He then left the room.

I turned to the person sitting next to me and said, "I bet he's looking for me. He'll be back."

Not two minutes later he poked his head back in the room and asked if anyone had seen me. The person next to me looked incredulous while I laughed and the hubby shrugged it off, since it was something that happened very regularly.

I wish I would've known this trick in all my math classes. It would've saved me a lot of annoyance with my professors.

I woulldn't mind if it didn't happen without my intending to disappear. It's kinda inconvenient when it happens in stores!

Although, if I was working in a store, and I wanted to disappear so the SC's couldn't find me...that would be great!

Girl, it's simply because they're stupid.

I'm 6'8 and at times I wear a hi viz jacket. People bump into me all the time and claim they didn't see me...

*nods* I've made people jump by 'sneaking up on them'. I am 6'0 tall, 250+ lbs...a heard of elephants sneak better then I do.

I have yet to trample anybody though. Even if I am 'zoning' (ie have other things on my mind). Some people just can't see more then an inch infront of their face, and that if it is pertains to them specifically.

I used to have a friend that did similar, Mytical.

He is 6'2, and at the time weighed probably just under 300. His most famous display was the time when he was lounging in an office chair, feet propped on a desk a book open in his hand, a soda near his feet, and his backpack on the floor beside the desk. Another friend entered the room and in the time it took for me and one other person to turn to the new arrival, say "Hello" and turn back, he and all of his belongings were gone. And he made not a sound. The other friend, who was facing his direction at the time and had an essentially unobstructed view never saw him leave, either.

We are all of the opinion that he actually teleported with all his stuff to outside the room.

Lol, I can so relate. People seem to underestimate how fast I can get this big frame to go. Momentum is a wonderful thing

I'm 5'3". So I'm not fun-sized unfortunately, but I'm not tall, either. I'm not even technically average. But I also look young. Apparently this combination makes it so I am invisible to passersby. So...I understand.

Oh, damn, maybe I have my cloaking shield on, too!

Wait, this isn't the lupo thread. Carry on nothing to see here

                              Yay, I'm still fun-sized!

I feel it sometimes, compared to all my tall friends. Although my roomies are all around my height, so it feels a little better.

Although I keep scaring my roomies when I come home or move around the suite 'cause I'm so quiet.
