Another math fail: A woman on my line had a package of sausages that was $6.99 with a $2 off store coupon that would make it $4.99. She asks me how much it is. I scan it on the test scanner and tell her it will be $4.99 after the $2 off coupon. Her response? "So how much would the regular price be?" Well, $4.99 + $2.00 = $6.99....
Credit card confusion: A another woman was paying for her order with a Discover card. The card on the top below the brand name says "cashback bonus" on it meaning you get some kind of cash back bonus at some point for using the card (I don't have one myself, but I'm pretty sure that's what it entails). The woman however must have thought this meant she could get cash back on the card, and asked me how much she could get back. I tell her none because it's a credit card and you can't get cash back with credit and then she points to the words cashback bonus and says "well it says this on it so I thought you could." I then explain about how the card's cashback bonus thing works (again, my assumed answer, anyone may correct me), and then she pays with that card and leaves. I think it would be a good idea though to learn how your card bonuses work before you use the card though, correct?
