My I.Q. dropped
Ok, this is my first SC post and it just happened earlier this morning (currently on break).
I work in the Photo Lab and was finishing up the opening procedures when a man later in his years approaches me. I had been warned about this customer earlier, but didn't rexpect what I got.
C: What's the difference between the Instant and 1 Hour as far as quality goes.
Me: Well, it is a matter of opinion, some people prefer one some people prefer the other.
C: Ok, I have three J-P-G's on this flash drive. Could you show me how to print them on the instant?
Me: Of course, let's go right over here.
I lead him to our instant print machine and we load up the pictures, not so bad so far.
Me: Ok, well if you don't need to make any changes, we can skip to the end.
C: Wait, I want this picture to be landscape. I want it to be a 6 x 4 instead of a 4 x 6.
Me: Ok, we are going to have to crop it, so you may lose some of the image.
C: No, I don't need it cropped, I just need as a 6 x 4 instead of a 4 x 6.
At this point I give him a blank stare for a few moments.
Me: So, you just need to turn the photo that way when it prints out.
C: No, you don't understand, I want a 6 x 4.
Lather, Rinse, and Repeat a few times, but with different wording. I then get tired of it and hit the button that rotates the photo. No change is made, the image was now on its side, which is how it prints out anyway. I thank the gods that we didn't have to do this with 100 photos or on the 1 hour which takes about 10x longer to flip and image. After that I was drained... I was flabbergasted (yes, that best describes it) that even if I did a visual example, he would not understand.
Does feel a bit dramatized when I explain it all though.
