So we have the inspector today and for some reason the GM says we can't have any checkouts. I dunno why. We can't check them out on the computer is what he means. Whatever. I put that in the back of my mind & went about my business.
"Don't check them out, don't check them out" said my mind over and over. It was really important, comes from the GM himself. So what do I do?
Me: Hello can I help you?
Guy: I'd like to check out.
Me: Ok.
My mind: Don't check them out don't check them out.
Guy: Oh and I'd like to pay for my incidentials separate please.
Me: Ok.
My mind: Don't check them out don't check them out....okay first you separate his bill and more the charges, take his credit card and swipe...
It was probably because of that I instantly forgot and hit the check out button.
Me: (realizes) Oh Shiiiiit!!!
Guy: O_o
Me: (clamps hand over mouth) >_<
I was so used to hitting that button that I did it automatically! I was soooo mortified. I was frantically trying to think of what to do, how to fix it while trying to look calm and composed so the guy wouldn't get worried. Hopefully he doesn't complain about my language.
Finally, I just checked him back in. I hope no one looks at the computer log to closely. The GM probably asked that for inventory reasons anyway. I'm more worried that the guy complains about me. LOL Oh well.
