I went to fax some direct deposit info to my new employer (the alternative was a voided cheque and who bothers to get cheques anymore??).

My area code is 123. The area code for my employer is 789, which means of course it's long distance. So I dial and it's going nowhere ... going nowhere ... going nowhere ... I ask the employee and she says it's just busy ... then the fax machine signals it's going to sleep, so I ask the employee again ...

Turns out you have to dial "1" before dialing long distance. Who knew?

I do that all the time. Though more often than not, I try and put a "9" in before faxes. For our phone system, you dial "9" to get an outside line, but not for the fax, so I will stand there for half an hour, trying to send it through several times, cursing at it, before realizing that I dialed it wrong all along.

Awww, lol. Funny!! I send faxes all the time so I know all about that XD.

I love those times when you get annoyed over something and then you realize how small the mistake was. Keeps me in check! Hehe
