I was sitting at work in the computer, during some rare down time, and was reading some articles. Suddenly, I hear my coworker cracking up next to me. I turn and she's just laughing my direction.

I ask her what's up. She answers.

Apparently, while I was reading on the computer I picked up my cup of chicken that had a fork sticking out of it and tried to drink out of it like it was a straw.... And didn't even notice. I put it back down, correctly picked up my cup and drank my water without missing a beat.

And this is why no one should talk to me while I'm reading. My mind is just gone...

I've shoved a straw up my nose doing exactly that. Brings you back to reality pretty quickly.

I do things like that all the time when I'm reading. I can (or so I'm told) walk into things and not even notice, then wonder later where the bruises came from. In school I would always read at lunch, and sometimes it took my friends saying my name three or four times before I would realize they were trying to talk to me.
