So I got 5 calls from a number reverse lookup says belongs to a bus company in Hartford ... so I called to let them know that I really wasn't anybody that needed to get involved with busloads of children 
The poor receptionist is all alone, and the regular fax machine is not that number, but we figured that perhaps an old fax machine was randomly sending a report or something on some ancient schedule thanks to surge damage from the recent outage [or maybe the cleaning lady plugged it in in a back office to use as a telephone that didn't go through the switchboard?]
We got a laugh over it, commiserated about her having to work on a no-school day, and she will check to see if she can find the fax machine by wandering around and looking for a fax machine and if she can't find a fax machine, tomorrow when the IT/phone support guy is in she will have him check things out.
