This actually happened a few weeks ago, but with my spacey mind it just occurred to me to post this now.
(Background info: This past month I've been working at one of my bosses' other stores while one of the employees there was off on medical leave. Also, I was trained there when I was first hired two years ago.)
A gentleman called in and asked if we had any cans of Cameo tobacco in stock. I informed him that we didn't even carry Cameo tobacco, aside from the cigarettes. He insisted that we did and confirmed the location he was calling, but I told him that we haven't had it in the two years I've worked for the business.
Anyway, he hung up and I guess called another store to find out if they had any.
A few hours later when KL came in to relieve me I mentioned the call to her. Imagine my embarrassment when she told me that the PSD does carry Cameo tobacco and that the guy who called was probably the regular who routinely buys it from them. They just happened to be sold out at the moment.
And here I was insisting that we never ever had it. Whoops.
In my defense, though, I haven't worked at that store regularly in almost two years (I work at one of the other ones), I know for a fact that cans of Cameo aren't carried at my usual store, and even when I was at PSD I couldn't remember ever seeing any Cameo cans. I just hope I didn't accidentally cause the store to lose a customer.
