I've had lots of oopses, I figure I'd share some so y'all don't feel so bad...lol...
1) The store I work at does this thing every summer that's basically the equivolant of McDonald's Monopoly game, except we use sort of a map of the state and each game piece you at POS has a city on it...get the right combo, win a prize...etc...anyway a few years ago, about a month before the game ended, my boss said "I Just wish we'd get rid of these things." So stupid me thought he actually wanted them gone, and in the span of about 20 minutes I gave away over 3000 of the things! lol...I got bitched out for screwing up the game, but he did mention he was glad I was somewhat paying attention to him...lol...
2) Just a few months ago a friend of mien came in the store while I was covering an overnight. As he and I frequently used to watch MTV and make fun of the videos, I initated our usual greeting which involves a form of racial slur that I had led to believe was cool and acceptable, and of course I meant no ill will in the term, but as luck would have it, someone walked into the store who was just the right complexion to have been offended by it. Turns out the dude was british and didn't even know what it meant...lucky me.
3) Couple years ago I was having an extreme personal issue at work and I was able to hold it together for most of the day until one of our regulars came in, got a cup of coffee, and then when she got to the counter, she started bitching about the music I was playing in the store. Granted, it was AC/DC, and you gotta be careful about what you listen to at work, but I had it at a reasonable enough volume that the lyrics could not even be heard on her side of the counter. But she set me off, and I leaned over the counter and said "You wanna wear that coffee????" yeah, that didn't go over well.
So yeah. No one f's up as badly as I do...lol...y'all are doin good.
