Okay folks, I could use a little guidance here.
I ordered a widget on eBay, under a BIN. I did the BIN on March 27th, and paid via PayPal as soon as I finished the BIN. The seller sent me an e-mail within a couple hours asking for my phone number for UPS. I responded to that e-mail just over an hour after that, giving my phone number, and also noting that my delivery address is a business.
The eBay listing had indicated that the widget would ship "directly from the supplier", ie. drop shipping, so I tried to be patient.
On April 18th, having not received the widget and having heard nothing further about the widget, I sent out an e-mail:
"Hello! I hadn't heard anything recently about the status of my order, eBay item #[Number][Listing Title], and wanted to check in if it had shipped yet, and if so to see about getting a tracking number. If it has not shipped, is there an estimated ship date?"
My seller responded the next day that she was waiting to hear from the distributor, and then later in the day that the widget was backordered, and I should have it in about 10 days.
This past Monday, April 30th, I sent another e-mail:
"Hello! Saturday was Day 10, and still no pan, so I thought I would check in and see if there was any further information. Thank you for your continued diligence on this!"
I got an e-mail back Tuesday that my seller was waiting to hear from the distributor. I heard nothing after that, so today I sent another e-mail, simply, "Have you heard anything from the Distributor?"
This makes it 38 days with no widget, and the only contact I've had from the seller, aside from a request for my phone number, has been at my instigation. I'm planning on doing a chargeback next Thursday, so I don't miss PayPal's deadline, but figure I should probably give my seller the opportunity to make this right first. Any suggestions on what my next move should be?
Thanks!
