It's been said, but to reiterate, you were not an SC. People get too worried and sensitive about this subject. An SC is someone who is unreasonable and/or inconsiderate (among other things). You were the polar opposite of those behaviours, the circumstances were totally reasonable, and you were totally considerate to keep them advised of them.
