So I have two full time jobs, right? At The Spa and The Bar. Well, it's Crazy Happy Halloween Week this week in Tourist Town and every bar is throwing big parties. Including ours. We had our big pirate costume bash at The Bar last night, complete with swords, big feathered hats and even a parrot. We were packed upstairs, shoulder to shoulder, and I didn't leave work until after 2:30 am. I didn't even go out -- the roomie and I went straight home, showered and went to sleep, after I set about five alarms. I slept pretty well and woke up this morning at 9:05 am.
Which is a problem since I was supposed to open at The Spa and was supposed to be there at 7:30 am.
I called the hotel and told them I was on my way and I was at the spa by 9:12. Luckily my therapists had gotten everyone settled in, but when security had realized I wasn't there, they had called not my boss (the spa manager) not her boss (the sales manager) but HER boss, i.e. the General Manager, i.e. one step below The Owner.
Luckily no one's mad at me ("These things happen" and they all knew I'd been working slightly crazy hours this week and last anyway) but still, I was terrified there for awhile. And I feel horrible about it too!
