So, our scheduling around here is pretty flexible. Even with the night shifts, one of our supervisors tends to just ask people to cover. A few weeks ago, I was asked to cover a shift, and I said I probably could, as I didn't see any reason why not - OT$$ is always useful. The shift is that of my fellow night coworker, P, who I work with 4 nights per week (I work Sun-Th, she works M-F).
Well, today, while looking at the calender to see who was working with me for M-Th, I realized that I'm working her shift this Friday. Which means I'll be stuck here for the MSU-Memphis Sweet Sixteen basketball game. Which means I'll likely have to watch the game on the computer, instead of in high-def with my parents at their house, where they feed me.
I'm going to chat with coworkers tomorrow, and see if I can try to work something out. Trouble is, I could REALLY use the $$ from the OT right now, so I don't want to give up the shift, but I really shouldn't leave work before 10pm, so I don't have to leave the other night person alone (3rd shift shows up around 10). Grr. Way to go me, being all agreeable and flexible.
