  • I was a bit of a bitch...

but to be fair, I had my reasons.

I didn't say anything, but I am usually friendly and polite when dealing with wait-staff etc. This particular waiter used to bully me in high-school. Now, if this sounds pathetic to you, you have no idea of the extent of it. I went from being a happy, sheerful outgoing young girl to a depressed, isolated suicidal self harmer with rage issues, mostly due to what they did to me. I am better now, but can still get a little twitchy when I see the people who did it to me.

I also have a funny thing- If I dislike someone, or feel they owe me an apology, I HATE wehn they use my name. Someone who used to call me a sexless bitch whose boyfriends would need viagra doesn't get to call me by name, especially when they haven't seen me for years and the last time they saw me they said they hoped I'd die.

So, instead of my friendly, warm self I was cold and pretty much ignored him all evening. I never swore at him, I was just distant and never even looked at him.

If I ever see him and he apologises, all will be forgiven. Till then I will be a bitch.

Meh.. I'd have called management and said that "That server has a history of mental illness, a person doen't feel safe around them" and demanded another server. But I'm a bit more evil than you

I have actually left a resturant before because I still feared what the bully would do to my food.
I didn't think going to another section or speaking to mgmt would protect me.

I'm the same way too. Most of my friends use my old college nick name when referring to or talking me, so when someone I know I'm NOT friends with uses my real name my shackles go up. It's patronizing.

You did indeed, and to be fair you handled far better than I would have done, you didn't rant nor rave indeed you kept your composure and your dignity, I'm sure that is an incredible blow to the person who used to bully you.

Oh, high school... I'm so glad that crap's over.
For me, anything you do to that guy is fine, and totally justifiable.
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?
