This was a "duhhhh" moment on my part.
I moved to where I live now in 2005. I had a coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond and wanted to buy some new towels. So I go to the store. I find some nice towels and some other household items and I go towards the register.
That's when I notice the signs and realize that I am not in Bed Bath and Beyond, but rather in a Linens 'n' Things.
As you can imagine, I felt terribly stupid and annoyed at myself. Then I became even more confused when I saw a customer with a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon just like mine!
Was she also in the wrong store? Or did she know something I didn't know? It was a mystery!
I went up and talked to her, and it turns out that this particular store was actually honoring coupons from the competitor! She also told me exactly where the BB&B was in relation to where I was then.
So I learned 2 things that day! It ended up working out OK even though it started off as a total mistake on my part.
