As well as customers buying stuff off us they can also pay most household bills in the shop.

We had a chap in on Saturday morning with 9 assorted bills (electric, gas, phone, tv etc etc)Normally they are cash only but as he was paying the account he has with us as well i said it could all go on his card.

I zapped and processed each bill, got a total and handed him the credit card terminal to put his PIN in while i produced the stapler and began stapling each receipt to the relevant bill.

Slot paper in stapler. Hit it. Repeat.

    I got into a routine.

So much so that as the credit card terminal beeped I tore off the receipt, whipped out his card and had stapled the two together before I realised what i was doing.

Fortnately the staple missed both the magnetic stripe and the chip so his card is still usable.

And even more fartunately, he has a sense of humour!

Wow, you must have been really punching that stapler hard to get it through the plastic!
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

        Not that hard!

Our stapler is a big old fashioned metal one as the little regular plastic ones kept being nicked so this is large enough that customers can't "accidentally" wander off with it.
