  • Stop asking me questions!

Tonight I'm working in the tool rental department. I don't know a drywall sander from a hole in the wall. But the moronic management would rather have me just sit here any play on the computer than actually give me the tools so that I could learn something. I keep having customers coming in asking questions about this and that. I had a customer earlier that said he needed a really big fan. *check the price list* Don't see any fans, sorry. Check electrical or hardware, they might have something for sale. 20 minutes later I walk by a big giant air mover....oopsie. When did that get there? Oh well. Right before him I had a customer who wanted to know how many bags of concrete he could use in the concrete mixer at a time......uh....*blank stare*

A few minutes ago I was renting out a square buffer (the customer had a question about the machine, but ended up going to hardware to ask the guy over there before my head exploded). As I'm renting it out another customer comes in and rudely interrupts to ask a question....

(note: we have a 4 hour rental and a 24-hour rental. when you rent something less than 4 hours before closing time, you can keep it until 9am the next day and only pay the 4 hour price.)

"If I rent something tonight do I have to rent it for 24 hours if I only need it till 8am?

    "Yep, sorry."

"OK I'll come back tomorrow morning then."

OK now I feel a little bad for making him come back tomorrow morning, and I really thought about telling him the truth...but my mental capacity was already on overload from the sander guys that I was helping. Don't push me. I can only think so much in one night. Not to mention I'm still kinda doped up on cold medicine. Actually I think it's starting to wear off, my throat hurts again. Anywho......you want someone here who actually knows what they're doing? Sorry, then don't come in here on Tuesday or Thursday nights. Because I sure as heck don't know what I'm doing. And I'll be the first to tell you that.

OK, it's 9:50...we close in 10 minutes.....think I can safely make it out without crying? I hope so.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.
