    This one was a classic one that I used to tell the newer TSR's when they're nervous on their first night.
    Like I've explained in a few of my posts, I used to be a telemarketer and I called out to the US(I'm from Canada). Not a racial statement, I just had to call them because that's how the automatic dialer worked. I accept that there are idiots of all races and religions. Anyways, on with my story:

    This was a call I got when I was just trained on a new program(it was new to me, but it's been there for nearly three years). I basically had to welcome new cardmembers and offer them a program for their new card. Confidentiality states that I can't discuss much more than that, so I will improvise when neccessary.

    The people involved:
    Me: The TSR
    SC: The customer

    So my first call began normally:

    Me: Hi may I speak with <woman's name>?
    SC: This is her.
    Me: Hi this is Ukyo Kuonji calling on behalf of your <bank> credit card.
    SC: Okay.
    Me: I'm calling today to welcome you as a new cardmember, I trust you received your credit card already?
    SC: Yeah. Got it yesterday actually. <bank> card right?
    Me: Yes that's the one, great. I'm also calling to let you know that, because you are a valued new cardmember, you have been selected to participate in <program name>.
    SC: Okay then.

    The seemed sort of interested, and from the sound of her voice this card could have been her first. I went along and said my offer. She remained on the phone the whole time, and I had no trouble with her or my new script, already making my own personal notes about what to tell her next about the offer(Just to make it more interesting and more understandable)...
    And then I get to the part where the price is concerned. The proposed script I am supposed to read on pretty much says "We are offering this great program to you for <low price> for the first 30 days if you just want to look it over, and afterwards if you want to continue, the cost of this great program is <higher price>." Sounds simple for me to say right? Well let's see...

    Me: We are offering this great program for <low price> for the first 30 days if you just wanted to look me over-

    Click!

    And then I realize what I said. >_<
    You can't stay too serious in that call center, you'd go crazy! That was proof of that!
