What's wrong with Laughlin? Checked my atlas, and it's fairly close to Las Vegas, and is even on a decent road. Midas, I can understand - the road is shown as a light grey line, which is this atlas' code for "needs upgrading to qualify as a cow path".

To be blunt, it's part of the other Nevada. There is really two Nevadas, there is Reno/Sparks/Carson/Vegas (aka, the cities, or what I call the real Nevada) and then there is dueling banjos... people like me and my husband simply don't fit in well with dueling banjos folks (though I'm sure as far as they're concerned, we'd fit nicely in chains drug behind their rusted old pick up trucks).

As far as the position that I applied for, I'm really getting the feeling that they already knew who they wanted and did the posting just as a formality. I mean, I'm really not surprised. It has been so long sense I've been happy, that I've forgotten what it felt like, and it would serve me right to get my hopes up in thinking that I deserved otherwise.

Aw, smiley, my parents go to Laughlin once every year and they said I should get a job at a casino there.
