I was given a new job by my current employer. Apparently one of the managers I worked with back in 2004 and 2005 had a job opening at two parking garages that his direct supervisor is over. He works as the lead maintenance supervisor.
I work as a porter from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. I am not used to the early hours, but it is a set schedule, and it is much better than the schedule I was working. A typical schedule for me was 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, then go back to work at 5 p.m. and work until 9 or 9:30 p.m. at the parking garage I was working at for special events at least twice a week, Thursday and Friday from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday's from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then either on Thursday or Friday depending on which of those nights there was special event parking at the other parking garage, I would also work from 5 p.m. to 9 or 9:30 p.m. in addition to working from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. & from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. I was working 35 hours a week or more, but my work schedule was crazy.
I am fairly new at portering. I have done some light portering for my current employer in the past. So if anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
