This is a tale from back before I worked at my previous place of employment. I had a summer job cashiering at a discount department store. (I've gone back there plenty of times since then, some of the staff still recognise me
)
One night, this customer comes through my line with a bag of beanbag beans. She then asked to get some more, so I placed the bag in a dead lane so someone else wouldn't pick them up and waited for her to return.
She returned and I went to pick up the bag.
Cue the bag bursting open and HUNDREDS of beanbag beans spilling out onto the floor. And I'm standing in the middle of them.
Night manager was running around with the dustpan, but we found beans for DAYS afterwards.
The customer found it somewhat amusing at least and went to pick up another bag.

I picked them up out of my cart, not realizing that the net bag wasn't properly tied shut, and they went all over the conveyor belt. It was one of those stores where you buy the plastic bags for ten cents, so I just bought an extra bag and shoved them all in there. The cashier scanned the tag on the net bag.

Can't imagine why
