    Here we go again! Oh, and hello!

    I am so sick of doing this whole 'Vanish for a few months' thing! But, without a job it's really hard to come to this site as, I usually have nothing new to contribute. And since, those who know me, know I recently was let go from Gamestop since they couldn't afford to keep me on, I vanished once more.


    But I have just put my application in at Dunkin Donuts... Gods have mercy.

    I really didn't want to work there... I have always told myself I would never work in the Food Indstry, not because I think I'm above that, I don't... I just don't trust myself with other peoples food... That and Fast Food joints are the most demeaning and shit ass jobs in the world...

    But hey, I need money, NOBODY is hireing except them this time of year (they just opened.) And I have bills to pay...


    Oh yeah, fun fact... Gamestop Inc. grossed over 5.3 BILLION dollars this year in profits... My previous employer had to let me go because corperate would not give her the hours she needed to give me the job... She has so LITTLE hours, that she can only afford to give her non manager staff ONE day a week...

    Don't you just love the respect corperate gives to it's employees?


    Anyway, hopefully I get the job, and I'll be around alot more! So again, and hopefully for the LAST time...

        You don't have to have new stories to contribute! I haven't worked directly with customers in almost a year, and I'm here all the time

          It's been just over 17 years for me.

          What Corporate does to its employees really sucks. Similar things recently happened in a nearby town that's famous for their chocolate.

          But hey, if they treated their employees fairly, they might not be able to afford that second summer home, or they might have to settle for an 80-foot yacht instead of the 100-foot one. Oh, the horrors!

            Grr I know the pain!! I got cut from 30 hrs/ week to 7. I need 25 to pay my bills and be able to eat at the same time >__<

              Update: In a further laps of judgement... I have also applied at the local Hess Station as a Hess Express employee, not a gas attendant...

              Whats that? What am I talking about?


              Oh right! I live in New Jersey, and in New Jersey EVERY Gas Station is full service. So I'd be the guy in the store, not the one pumping gas.


              Again this has nothing to do with me believeing I'm better than the job, I'm just not, how do you say... weather friendly.

              The only problem is I think the Application messed up, I did the online one and I don't know if it went through, so I'm gonna walk up there and talk to the manager there, I'm there every day anyway.

                hey, I live not too far from Smiths Falls, Ontario (Canada) and they're closing our Hershey factory altogether *cry* no more field trips.

                  Update part duex: I have a job! Sorta... I have been told by the manager at Hess to come in tommorow to put me in the system and talk hours. Woo!

                  I think this will be awesome, I will officially be a clerk, not a sales associate. I will no longer be required to sell up, sell service plans and asinine products. That, and I've heard, though no conformation, that Gas Stations tend to pay more than minimum wage, so thats swell, since all my jobs in the past have really paid BARE minimum...


                  There is a bit of a problem, not major though...Read more about it in my other thread Hair


                  Anyway, while I will now be a clerk, as oppose to a Sales Associate, I will still be dealing with Customers... So I garuntee I'll be here plenty.
