It started out small. It started early. The Newest Full-timer brought in a small Christmas tree (the kind that plugs in to USB for its power) in the middle of November and set it on her work area.
Then a week before Thanksgiving, Goodhair decided we should do holiday cards to send out to good customers and area businesses. He wanted the cards to feature a group photo of all the branch's employees (all 8 of us, including the part-timer) in front of the Christmas tree. So NF and a couple others set up the Christmas tree, and we took the picture. They put up wreaths along the teller line at the same time.
Other decorations started to trickle in. Goodhair put his Charlie Brown looking Christmas tree on his desk. PT brought in ceramic snowmen and a glass goblet full of LED lights. The head teller bought little stockings for each of us filled with candy canes, hand lotion, and chapstick. (I hung mine where the infamous moose painting used to be.)
Not wanting to be the only one without holiday decorations in their area, I brought in a (fake) cranberry wreath and hung it in my office.
Yesterday, PT hung Christmas ornaments from ribbons attached to the ceiling over her work area. NF brought in a Santa statue that has a LCD countdown to Christmas in his belly. I expect this will continue escalating, with PT and NF bringing in the most holiday decorations, until Christmas. Or maybe even longer.
