Money missing

Earlier today, we noticed exactly 250€ were missing from the safe.
Ususally, that kind of thing happens when a cashier screws up and doesn´t register her till properly, and she ends up with the missing amount in her till. So it evens out at the end of the day.

But no such luck here.

I just received a call from the girl that closes today, that the money remains missing and she has to call corporate and the DM.
We did have an armored car coming today, so we dearly hope that the mistake happend there (250€ equals one packet of rolled 1€ coins), but we won´t know until thursday probably.

The horrible thing is that 3 people including me had their hands on the safe keys this afternoon, and that is not allowed.

So a write-up for all 3 of us is coming

I never ever had a write-up at any of my jobs before, I am feeling squeamish as hell and sick to my stomach.

That almost happened tonight. A girl wasn't at her register, but she needed some $1 bills, so another girl got them for her and stuck them in the drawer UNDER the cash drawer. Luckily we found it before sneaky stock crew did, but she got a talking-to by the MOD.

Hope the money turns up. Have some brownies on me.

When I came into work today, mondays closer almost DID hug me

She received a call from the company that collects our cash-baggies. They told her there were 250€ more than our receipt stated in saturdays baggie I have no idea how that happened or why we didn´t notice that any earlier.

The DM apparently decided not to give us write-ups anymore.

My other coworker that had keys that afternoon cried out of relief when we phoned to tell her that.

I bought a bottle of wine after my shift to celebrate and I´m getting a corkscrew now
