I think we need to hire more people....

A few things I noticed that I feel shows our need for more hirees(spelling?)

-We had 23 "slots" on my scheduale meaning there are 23 names written in to work in these departments for the week. Those 23 slots are filled with about 15 people. This means we have about 8 people working cross department.

-Im answering phone calles with 'Home electronics E speaking. O you needed Major Home Fashions? umm....Major Home Fashions E speaking.'

-So much talk about how we are tight on hours and things are rough and yet I get 38 hrs a week part time.(not to annoyed at that hehehe)

-An 8 hr shift consists of me opening MHF, helping in the GC, covering for an hour in Home E, unloading a truck of stock in the GC, bringin up stock for MHF, then closing the GC.

-Every day i see anew name crossed off the list due to either being fired, or quitting....

The grocery store that I work at is also short on people. I really hope there's another checking class soon so that some of the baggers can become checkers which would really be helpful.

Wow, you're part time and working a full time shift?

I know that here, if you work more than 29 hours a week for more than two weeks, they have to upgrade you to full time. They can't get away with using you full time, but being cheap and not giving you the proper benefits and holiday pay.

heh i would ask for fulltime now but im planning on leaving soon. but i really should.......im kinda just finished working 7 days straight with one day off and another 7 days. I mainly volenteer for this stuff since i feel sorry for other people who get stuck with bad shifts so i go on and help em out.


If i was staying I would be all 'make me full time!'

Yup, same further north in E-town. The problem is that unless it's the oil companies, the pay is based on other locations in Canada, so the pay is usually sub-standard, so the jobs are available, but no one wants to work them.
