  • A Really Good Start to Work Today

This really struck a happy chord in me today and I thought I'd share because we share so much that's upsetting. Thought it would be nice to share something, well, nice.

I get out of my car and walk across the parking lot towards work. My SM is out front having a smoke and I say, "How are you?"
He answers by throwing his arms up and proclaims, "Everything's better now that you're here !"

I walk in the door and my SL looks at me and says, "NightAngel! I'm so glad you're here!"

My CSR comes by and goes, "Hey! I'm so happy to see you!"

A couple of regular customers see me and get big smiles, wave.
Another regular also greets me warmly and we chat for a moment.

It's nice to go somewhere where people are glad to see you arrive. Even if that somewhere is work.
"I don't want any part of your crazy cult! I'm already a member of the public library and that's good enough for me, thanks!"

That happens to me every once in a while too.

I called in sick two sundays ago, then Monday night when I walked in, my supervisor yelled "BLAS! How are you tonight? Feel better? We're glad you made it!"

Then as I walked into the meeting room, everyone flocked me and asked if I was alright and started talking about my tan and my hair.....

I wanted to say, "What the hell happy pills are you guys on today? Remember, you hate me? I'm Resident Retard around here? I'm a dumb bimbo, remember? Why do you care?"

But I just shrugged and sat down and didn't say anything.

If I get that, the first thing in my mind is "Okay, what is so messed up here that I'm this desperately needed?"

      I'm usually right too.

I actually had one of my co-workers call me when I took two days off-I have no idea where she got my number-but she just called because "it's not like you to not be at work". And I'm the resident "creepy goth chick"
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I have that going through my mind, too, depending on who's saying it. (I have my own fan club at work, so if someone who isn't part of the club gets excited to see me, I get concerned.)

To be honest when the SM said, "everything is better..." I said, "Why? What happened?" and I was relieved when he said nothing had happened.

Must have been a good day at the work site, then.

I like those kinds of days.
