  • So I got an interview...

I'm interviewing for a higher position at work. With my regular job, I have already asked off two days in July because I am going on vacation (I've already paid for the trip and everything).

So, I'll still need those two days off... do I mention that in the interview? Or wait and see if they offer me the job?

Also, is it rude to ask them how many people have applied for the position? Hardly anyone applied for the last jobs and I'd like to know if I'm the only one.

Any other advice would also be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I'd let them know after you know if you get the job or not, personally. In job interviews, sometimes less is more. Let them ask the questions. Asking if anyone else within the company has applied shouldn't have any harm, the worst they'll say is they can't tell you.

I would say, if you feel the interview is going well, or if they ask if you have any questions or concerns, then mention the two days, otherwise leave it unless directly asked.

As for asking how many other people are interested, I can't see too much problem with asking. To me, that would just mean the person wants to know their chances at getting the position. Not at all a bad thing.
