  • Drugs in the store, police say don't waste our time.

So this lady came in, wanted a keno ticket. Thinking this lady, you know, had money, ran it. IT was a two dollar ticket. She reach through her purse, pulling out crap left and right, but she couldn't find her money, she had to come back later. (Seeing as a keno ticket runs and plays every 4 minutes, I cannot cancel it, and she can find out if it was as winner or not within minutes. She left, without paying. Rather that be written up, I would pay for the damn ticket. Thankfully it was a two dollar winner, so I got my money back. THen I saw something strange. I saw a white cigar paper. I picked it up, and yep, could smell the pot already.

I walked around, and found another, and another. and another.

Five bunts. Filled with pot. I checked the tape, and boomya, its the lady who's dropping them from purse.

I call manager. Manager tells me to call police. I call nonemergency.

They come about 4 hours later. To basically say, 'thanks for telling us you found drugs, but its such a small amount its not worht our time. Just throw it out". The police lady even seemed annoyed, after she asked me if I wanted her to take and destroy it and I said yes. I know its paperwork, but I don't what to do with it.

During that time, people were asking what that smell was and smirking at me. ><
The lady came back pleading if I found anything. I said no.

Seriously, what WAS I suppose to do with drugs. I never even touched the stuff in my life, so I didn't know I could just throw it out. Thought alot of people would be happy, as we got quiet a few people who shoot up behind our dumpster.

Gawd, I hate this store and miss my old one.

Silly cops. They could take notes from Springfield's finest and throw a party.

IMHO you did the right thing. You alerted your boss/superior/insert derogitory name here and followed his orders.

I can understand the cops not really caring, although enough for 5 decent sized blunts (or where they joints, joints are the size of a ciggarette or a little smaller, while blunts are the size of a cigar and bigger then a ciggie) would run you anywhere from a 1/8th of an ounce to a 1/4 of an ounce depending on the type of weed this could be anywhere from the equavalent of 20 bucks (cheap skag weed-1 eighth) to as Dr. Dre would say the Chronic (at about 130 bucks for 1/4 ounce).

Most cops would however be concerned about it being prerolled. In same area's this can be put in the same catagory as intent to distribute. The weed is "premesured" and broken up into smaller bags or other type of distribution method. And most stoners wont normally carry around 5 prerolled joints or blunts, they may have a bag of weed, and one allready rolled, but 5 is rare.

I think that you're cops were just being lazy.

P.S. I'm not a stoner....anymore....I changed my ways many moons ago.
My Karma ran over your dogma.

I don't smoke (no point and it's nasty), but I know that around here, for the most part, cops won't even write a ticket for that amount.

And in cases like with my brother, they couldn't even confiscate it since he's got a card. There are some doctors who will give out cards to anyone over 18 who knows enough to ask. In my brother's case, the doctor in question was shocked he didn't have more issues than he does. (I pushed him off the porch when we were little, so now he has a dent in his head)
