  • 5 people to staff our store on saturday.

we usually have 9 or 10 in on a saturday, and 13-14 staff in total.
We're down to ten staff (and will soon be down to 9) as people have left and we haven't found anyone to fill the positions yet.

Our manager and one other staff member are on holiday.
    One is ill.
Two don't work saturdays (one has a job somewhere else, the other is full-time contracted, and does specific days each week)

Leaving us five, one of whom went home at 2 and another went home at 4.

I had to take regular screaming breaks in the stock room.

ANd last night I might just have decided to stress release by going out, getting drunk and partying till 5am.

Even better this week! FOUR people.

    Ah well, comission was good.

(we get comission on own-brand sales shared between the people working that day. Today I nearly doubled my wages with comission)

i hated those days in the stores. i used to stop in Store1 sometimes to say hi, on a regular basis my friend would tell me there were 4 people to close, including the manager and the cashier who couldn't leave the cashwrap unattended (plus one in music and one in kids). Found out recently that the old manager, who was, um, resigned, several months ago, had shorted the store over 1000 hours in the last fiscal year...now, i understand needing to save on payroll, but these were hours that were allotted to them and expected to be used up...don't know what her thinking was with that one...
