  • Retail Weekly, front page....WHShit....is well, shit!

Today when I got into work a coworker showed me a copy of Retail Week that she got through the union. She is the union rep. Anyway, on the front page...main story...big headline is the story that I have been waiting to see.........WHShit is a bad comapny to work for that treats staff like crap.

I forget all the specifics, but the union sent a questionaire out for all store managers. It asked them certain questions and asked them to elaborate on the answers. It was something like

82% thought that WHShit was a bad company to work for who treat their staff badly and as if they are "stock".

70% (or something) said that the company sets unrealistic amounts of tasks for them to do with next to no staff and no time to do it.

70something% said that the company doesn't treat customers well and doesn't seem to care.

70something% said that morale is at an all-time low and that they have never worked at a company where staff were so depressed/upset/fed up as here.

80something% said that they would never recommend anyone work for the company.

80something% said that because of the company "profiting" by saving money on having no staff and cutting hours, staff that are there are unable to give good customer service, if any at all.

Again, this is not exact, but it is what the article was saying. It is all true. It is worse than anyone could imagine. I mean, it is getting awful. I have never worked at a job like it. They have even tried to save money on bags...now when you put something in a bag, it actually falls through the bottom so you have to use 2-3 bags instead of 1. You can see right through them! Problem is, I am a full-time kinda girl and can't find any full-time jobs available....and I do not want to work at McDonalds, so I am stuck here for now. ASSMAN has even told me to quit outright, as he is making more money now, but I couldn't do that.

And...what statement did WHshit make? Something along the lines of "This is not representative of our shops as not every manager took the survey". Also "This survey was carried out at a time when the pension scheme was revamped".

Now, the "revamp" can be read about here: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/retirem...1&in_page_id=6

The pension business was horrid, but that is only a portion of the problems that are going on with this shitty company...and all because of the witch that runs it now.

I am going to write to the magazine and express my feelings on the statement that the company has made excusing the fact that all the witch wants is money. No wonder workers are crap...no motivation, no bonuses, no pension, just frustration.

And the bastard customers do not help matters at all!

    I am angry!
"If it offends one person, it effects everyone".....me, on the PC world in which we dwell.

We got a store message about this at Argos lol. You're probably wondering why we knew about this even though we are totally different companies. Apparently WHSmith executives lashed out at an ex Argos exec saying she and her company didnt care about their staff. Then that survey comes out. Hmmm...

Wow. If the MANAGERS answered like that, I'd love to see the results if "regular" employees took the survey.
