Ah well, I survived. Any guesses at what I did when I got home this afternoon? I <3 naps.

Hopefully once I'm more comfortable in the office, my shifts will be regular again. They want more people to know how to open, especially during the beginning of the week, since the only two people who know how will both be going on maternity leave soon. And the 9PM thing is the result of wanting me to close the service desk. I sincerely hope they get another person trained on the desk, I've been doing it a lot of nights since the girl that usually would run it is no longer allowed due to a fudged up Western Union transaction.

I do like the early shifts though, despite having to get up at ungodly hours. Time goes by more quickly.

Well I wish I had known about my rights as an employee when I worked at the gas station and was scheduled to work 2-10 on Friday (so I'd leave around 10:20) and then have to be back at 4:30 am Saturday to open and do paperwork.

Same goes for working close on Monday, opening Tuesday, closing Wednesday, etc etc etc.

Publix (the grocery store I work for) requires 10 hours off between shifts - even for managers. Doesn't leave much time to get lots of sleep, but it's nice.

Lucky you. I only get 8 hours. Some nights I have to work until 9 pm unloading truck and then come back in at 5 am for stocking.

Our manager says she's going to change her scheduling so that if we work until 9 unloading and we're needed the following morning, she won't have us come in until 7 those days.
