    If you're eating sensibly and exercising but still gaining fat, it's probably fat your body needs.

    If you think that's not the case, do a food diary for a few days or a week, then take yourself and your food diary to a doctor or nutritionist, and get their opinion. In order of likelihood: you may have a mistaken idea of what level of fat your body needs, you may not be eating as sensibly as you think, or you may have an endocrine, thyroid or other disorder.

    Most people in most modern Western cultures think they 'should' be unhealthily thin, without the body fat the human body needs for insulation. To complicate matters, the culture also pushes too much food at us.

    Also, if that's your face in your icon, you're not carrying too much fat. If anything, your face is bordering too little.

    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

      I had a similar problem with my roommate, although his was half weight, half fitness. We have a campus gym membership included in our tuition, and I've been making good use of it. Whenever I go, I usually ask him if he wants to come as well, but he only does about 1/3rd of the time. Then I hear him bitching about how he wants to get in better shape and lose weight. So, I tell him 'Well, then, when I ask you if you want to go to the gym, say 'yes', instead of staying home and playing WoW!'

      He comes to the gym more often now.
