Shuffles got transferred last week! I'm not exactly sure what happened, but he did underschedule the store on Memorial Day weekend, as well as play some other games with hours (and some people's vacation checks; I didn't get mine until after I got back which is technically a contract violation).
In exchange we got someone from that store (N) who apparently got into a fight with someone on the front end and that's probably why she was transferred. That bodes well...
Already N has pissed off a few of the cashiers by copping a serious attitude (today I covered a few bathroom breaks, and predictably got grilled as to why I was on a register "I didn't say X could take a break!"...the register's still open so why should that matter, when you gotta go you gotta go and isn't it kinda not kosher to deny bathroom breaks?). My few interactions with N have revealed that she is almost as manipulative as Shuffles; she's continuing his tradition of having very loud, public conversations in Spanish with the cash office manager (who fancies herself a CDH even though she is not supposed to have anything to do with running the front). I'm very tempted to have a translation app running on my phone for a few hours just to find out what they're actually saying...if those conversations do involve us, then we have a right to know what's being said about who.
The good news(?) is that N was an online pickup manager at her old store, so in theory she has an idea of how things work. Whether or not her view meshes with things are actually done here remains to be seen...we're a much smaller store and badly understaffed; I've also developed my own procedures to make things more efficient (and some are actual accommodations). I know that she has no idea that in the mornings I'm expected to do basically everything, whether or not I have orders and/or paperwork.
C (evening cashier) already dislikes N and she hasn't actually met her.
