I had a great day today (in spite of everything!)

So today at work wasn't NEARLY as bad as I thought it would be, sure it was long (11-8) and its retail and its the holidays, but the best part? I got to stay in the back and mark down all day so I didn't have to deal with any SCs!!!!!!

Which was good as I am absolutely exhausted, stressed family matters (dad has cancer and I am 400 miles away), and the weather is sucky in the Northeast. Had I had to be on the floor, helping and interacting with customers, there's no telling what might have come out of my mouth had I encounterd anyone VAGUELY sucky today.

I am home now, and after 2 glasses of Merlot, am feeling much better, in my jammies, watching my NY Giants....oh yeah, I have chocolate too!

I've come to realize that a lot, too. I mean, I dread going to work every night just because of my one trainee, but before that, any time I foreshadowed a shift to be the worst possible, I'd go in and it wasn't half as bad as I imagined.

It's all in our heads most of the time, I think.
