Its been happening more and more after I get my cell phone. Ether I'm getting off or on, and he's dealing with a jackass who demands free crap or this or that, and demanding to speak to a manager. He says fine, and offers to call the manager on duty. (Now normally I'm within ten feet, and can hear the entire converstation between the two). He picks up store phone, dials a number, and lets it ring. Few seconds later, my cell rings. I answer it.
ME: "Hello?"
CW: "YEah, I got someone who wants to speak to you"
ME: "Ok...". I hang up. Take two steps to the side.
ME: "How can I help you sir?"
Now one of three things happens. The customer thinks its hilarious, and says sorry.
Or the customer seemenly forgets that I was there the whole time and starts lying.
Or the customer gets reallly pissy, but normally calms down when they realized that yes, I am managment, and the only one who can really help them as much as possible.
In anycase, while its sucky on our half, more often then not, it does calm the customer down enough to be reasonable.
