    Cominatcha...

I've been reading this thread and discussing it with another IT person I know.

First off, I want to say I'm sorry you got put on the spot.

Second off, I want to ask if there is a way to lock the pictures to the webpage and not allow users/ readers to copy/use. (that's how the boss's boss's got yours on a paper). Or put watermarks on them, or have "friends only" as prevously suggested.

    Good luck,

    Cutenoob

true... i had a friend who was upset that i had her picture posted online from a convention i'd gone to. granted i'd posted the picture before i knew her ... i'd just been taking photos of the convention, including people who were running things. but after she said something, i had the photo disabled.

as for her daughter being able to access it.... there's a few solutions to that, mainly getting a Net Nanny.

Then she needs to understand this about photos of drunk people
      1) they are NOT NSFW
      2) they are not "Rated R", perhaps PG13 at the most.
      3) they do not qualify a web page as "unsafe for children"

In fact... if her child is going to those sites... she needs to be aware that most web pages requiring a login have a disclaimer that you have to be at least 13 years old, or have parental permission. Therefore to be going to ANY site like myspace or facebook, etc, the daughter had to ahve Mom's permission in the first place. Therefore it's not YOUR fault for posting drunk photos.

... but let me guess... her real offense is that the girl saw drunk photos of her mum, eh? And Mum doesn't want her knowing the truth of how she acts under the influence?

either way, the mature thing would have been to say "hey take my photos of your site" but... i suspect her ego spoke first.

I've not finished reading the thread yet, but.....is this the same boss that wanted you to pose in a bikini when you first started working there??
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

I have never posted photos of my family or friends online without asking their permission first.

Probably a good policy to have.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

I'm just real curious why the guy has copied pics of you in your undies and your bathing suit to his computer. Did I read that right?

I'm sorry, but simply not speaking to her **is NOT enough**.

I hope the Karma bus rolls into town on that C-word, and soon.

I rarely use, or even THINK that word, but my mind was screaming it when I read that.

And your boss??? Not one bit better.

Didn't think anyone remembered that - no it's not the same boss, it's the boss of that guy who wanted me to be a part of their advertising. Because he is one of the higher up's, that's why I just did what he said at the time without protest, as I was worried he was going to fire me or something!
But afterwards I was thinking it's so wrong the way he went about it!

I'm still angry at that stupid b***h who 'dobbed' me in. She's abviously gone and blabbed to people about it, as I've had a few other co-workers come up to me smirking and ask "So, am I on your MySpace?" I just act like I don't know what they are talking about and say that I don't have a MySpace, I have an MSN space, hehe. I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of getting upset, that's all they want. I'm at work to do my work, not to play childish games.

Now that I think about it, there are some things I *should* hide in my Livejournal. Not about work (those are already hidden), but about the MG and a few others. Nearly everything is "friends-only."

FWIW, I clicked on your website from your profile, and it stated I needed permission to access. If that has always been the case, how did your boss get in?

It wasn't like that until he forced me to change the settings while he was standing behind me.

I was thinking I might change it back so that anyone can access it, just to prove my point that he can't bully me when i've done nothing wrong.
Everyone can have a good stare and get it out of their system! haha.

Change it back. As long as you're not belittling your company or being nekkid, he shouldn't have a say. Hell, even if you are being nekkid, he doesn't have say, as long as your company is not involved. I am of course speaking from a perspective of US law, I can't say what Aussie law states.
