I lied to the Big Boss today...

Though it was because my supervisor told me to.

She came out of hte back and said "Make something up! I need BigBoss out of the back!" and I paused, confused.

Then a thought occurs. oooh!

So I nod and she dissapears, and I think a litlte, then page "Bigboss, call on line one please!" and hang up.

I must admit as much as I love Robin Williams I CANNOT keep a straight face, luckily Bigboss didnt notice as he dissapeared into his office In the front, and then yelled out "horsetuna, there's nobody on that line!"

Trying HARD not to giggle, I called back "They might have been dropped! we have been having phone troubles today!"

Well, he didnt come out of his office, which gave the Supervisor enough time to put candles on his Birthday cake and round up the others for a nice chorus of Happy Birthday.

I still dont think he realized I had lied to him to get him to go into his office, hehee...

*snicker* Those kinds of lies are A-OK in my book . . .


(Actually saw one of those the other day. One of our waiters was leaving, and our tradition is to spray them with whipped cream . . . and everyone knows this. It went:

Manager: Hey, N, could you come over here a second? I need to look at one of your checks.
N: You guys SERIOUSLY underestimate my powers of reasoning.
Manager: No, I'm dead serious . . .

Of course, she wasn't. ^_^ I didn't participate in the 'creaming (beyond watching), but I like to think I made up for it by cleaning it up. ^_^)
