Ok here's the deal. On Friday I got the "pink slip" from my temp job. The agency told me that they'll call me up once they get another assignment for me, but who knows when that'll be. So far I've sent out a ton of resumes and made some calls. Three years ago I worked for XYZ third party call center, I was one of the best reps on my team with my stats. I constantly was on the top 10% or 5% of the weekly and monthly rankings, but I was treated like dirt because of the horrible (now former) supervisor on my team. Worse was the fact that XYZ had rampant favoritism and office politics all through out the company. I left there since the account I was on closed (the client was going through a merger at the time),so I am eligible for rehire, but because this was so long ago I have to come in and fill out an application. I do have some doubts in my mind, but because of my current situation, I know I have to put my pride and happiness aside until I can get a job, but I just want to know if I'm doing the right thing.

I always look at it as "Why did I leave?" and once that is answered ask "Did anything change to make we want to go back?" and once that is answered ask "Do I want to go back" (this is also a great tool for relationships, but I digres)
Now, if you need a job (which it sounds like you do) and you aren't getting anywhere else then by all means go for it and hope for the best. But keep your options open. You don't want to be 55 when you finally are sick of it and noone will hire you because they don't want to train you just to retire in a few years.
