  • what else could go wrong?

OK, maybe I shouldn't ask that... I might get an answer...

but seriously this has been a miserable night. First I come in and we are oversold on room with 2 queen size beds. Then the guests in room 104 decided to smoke in their room... the alarm went off and rather than calling for us to reset it decided to remove the alarm. OK, so now not only do I have ADT calling me to make sure it's not a fire sense they can't get the alarm on properly I have a malfunction alarm that is beeping every 30 seconds and will continue to do so until monday morning when maintanence comes in
oh and then when I did the transaction total there was no less than 5 guests still in house (that's easy to fix) but 10 guests who weren't in house that I needed to print duplicate reciepts for our records... this is a pain in the ass because I have to find their account which depending on how slow the computer is going will take up to 5 minutes per account

oh and while I was waiting for the bus in between jobs I had some psycho guy just start yelling at me out of the blue that I hated him because he was black and I was a racist bastard (I have never met this person before, I never spoke to him, and I looked at him once when he walked up to wait for the bus and he seemed perfectly fine up until about 2 minute before the bus came)

why are all these people and things attracted to me

there is some good news for the night... the guests in rm 104 will be paying a smoking fine for the room... my manager called because when the alarm went off ADT called her and asked what the hell was going on... and she basically said, "I was woken because a guest was smoking in the room... they better be checking out before the next time I'm in because you can only charge them $200, I can charge them and then have them banned for life and maybe throw some heavy objects their way" that sentence made my night a lot better

(it even made up for the no shows who's cards were declined)

one why would anyone smoke in something they don't own, this just baffles me(I don't smoke in my apt because I don't own it)

and also can't you charge them for damaging the alarm?
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Because some smokers don't understand that smoke stinks. They can't smell it.

Frankly, the fine should be more like $500. REMOVING the smoke alarm so that they can smoke in a non-smoking room? Banned for life and a hefty fine isn't good enough for them.

only if we end up having to replace it...if it's just a quick 5 minute fix for maintanence then there's no point making someone pay for it.

and our smoking charge actually is quite reasonable... $200 just about covers the extra supplies and labor (i'm doing a rough guess of 100 to pay for new sheets etc and 100 for the cleaners and labor). You pull that stunt at the holiday inn in pocitello and it's something like a $500 fine.

Hm, our smoke fee is 150$, but even more if you smoke illegal substanaces in the room (you also pay the cleaning fee if you smoke the illegal substances in a non-smoking room, because it's a pain to get that stuff out and takes nearly a week for it to be completely gone).

That is a fairly reasonable thing. Here, if you *tamper* with the fire alarm, it's $500, then it would have been another $200 for the smoking charge. Ha.
