    You would never manage in South Africa, Flea. In summer, we can go as high as 46 degrees and we DON'T have air con installed in every home. Thankfully we have them in most offices.

      Please note, guys: That's outside. You know how quick a store full of display electronics and people can heat up inside. Especially if the sun is out, and double if the sun's shining through big front display windows.
      THANK you! thats a more direct way of saying what I was trying to say ^^;

        to be fair though, you're used to it I'm from ENGLAND. 28 degrees C is very hot to us.
        Hehe I know that. Couldn't resist a little picking on you

        Seriously though, it's not usually that hot up here in Pennsylvania--we typically top out in the low-90s. It's a bit odd to see all the red on the weather maps lately. I don't mind the heat, but too much plus the humidity can give me a migraine.

        As for electronics generating heat, well, I know what that's like first hand. At work, I have a computer in front of me, one behind me, and a server to my left. Throw in the spot lamps mounted in the ceiling, and I'm pretty warm during the day. Not so bad in winter, but a bitch in the summer

          there's a trick to those spot lamps. it's the same in my bedroom *points up at his bedroom light* that light has 6 50-watt halogen bulbs in it which throw off a lot of heat. the way I got around that was as the bulbs blew, I replaced them with those zero-heat energy saving bulbs. they still put out 50 watts but very little heat.

            **Not picking on Queen in particular, she just had the shortest quote.
            Are you saying I'm short?!

            But, yeah, I know how hot it can get with electronics. We have several computers in my living room so we're keeping the house at 66 right now. I never really knew how much heat a computer gives off until I had more then one.

              Gotcha beat. Seven computers and a radio console in the 12x12 room I'm in at work. :-p Luckily the room stays pretty cool due to the AC unit.

                28 degrees C. You WUSS. What are you going to do when you reach America?

                Oh, that's right. You're hijacking ME and taking me across the ocean. In a really big plane. Complete with commentary on your favourite crashes (which reminds me, I have a bit of a story from a nightmare if you'd like to read it).

                You're still a heat-wuss.

                    Ugh... I'm dealing with an AC issue myself. It's been in the low 90's here, with 40+ percent humidity. I've got 2 PC's and 7 servers cranking out lots o' heat in my office, which is supposed to have three window units. 1 is working OK, one isn't working at all, and the other blows hot or cold air depending on when you check and position of the moon. It's sweltering in here, and I've reported the issue. In my case, if the servers shut off due to over heat, I'm sure the AC will be fixed very quickly.

                      if I were you, I'd leave the one that is actually working alone, turn off the one that6 does what it feels like and report the fault...wait for the one which is still working to start going "chugga-chugga-chugga-bang-bang--BANG!" and blow...then just walk out while the servers happily overheat

                        Last week here we had temps in the high 90's low 100's.. with humidity in the high 80's. I live in the midwest, the temps weren't all that unusual, but the humidity just knocked people out. Today it was in the 20's, much more common.

                          My new company is cool! Our A/C went out at 7:15 am YESTERDAY morning with temps at 97 F /36 C. My company put out fans, free soda, water and juice and told us that if we wanted to we could wear shorts in today. (At the high point my desk temp read 112 f / 44 c

                          The A/C was FINALLY fixed at 1:15 pm today... and at 2:30 our company bought Ice Cream sandwiches for the entire company!
