The only thing America has similar to that is when Gas Prices soar. Gas companies can get in trouble for Profiteering but Hotels can do whatever they damned well please except be discrimintory against race, colour, and creed (broke or poor or whatever).

Some of the biggest screaming matches I had with my old boss at Motel Hell came about because she doubled, or tripled, the rates when hurricanes hit the coast, sending flocks of refugees up the mountain to us, or when ice storms hit the mountains, sending flocks of locals without electricity to us.Drive it like it's a county car.Comment
