  • hi, I'm smiley...

... and I'm an overtime-a-holic... I just figured out that I am doing 55, yes 55, hours over overtime in the month of July, that's 9 hour the first week, 20 hours per week for the 2 and 3rd, and 6 in the 4th week... and that is on top of having my second job which I average an hour a week on between coming in early or staying late...

so, are then any other overtime-a-holics that are willing to admit there problem on this board to start the road to recovery...

Now that I'm working full time hours, I average somewhere between 32 and 50 hours in OT a month.

No, I have no idea what I'm going to do with the OT money (more then likely I'll use it to fix my car and sell the lousy piece of )

Oh EQ, I can tell you exactly what I'm doing with my OT money... I'm putting it in savings so come the begining of the school year I can tell the call center to go to hell and live off of my 2 nights a week at the hotel and my savings... (hey, a man can dream can't he...)

True enough. I think I live off off... 2/3s of my monthly income. At the end of the month I'll average somewhere around 400$ I ahev left over. So it's going to sit in a high interest savings account until I have enough for a downpayment on a house.

that's a good idea... i was (un)lucky enough to inherit money for my down payment (I inherited that when my father died when I was 5... which is why I say unlucky).

other than I'm guessing by your avatar that you are in Britain and the commute to Utah would be a bit much I'd suggest you apply at my company, they are almost always offering overtime (I mean honestly, working in 55 hours around a second job...

When we were coming up with our medication scanning system in November/December of last year, 3 co-workers and I worked an average of 70 hours per week. This went on for a little over 2 months. 1 of my co-workers, a pharmacist, was salaried. I felt sorry for him. At least we were getting OT for being there that much. That wiped us all out.
On average, I work about 10 hours of OT per pay period. I have to take a week of call every 5 weeks. During those weeks, my OT os usually 15-20 hours.

Same here I can't even work 40 hours. The most they can give me is 39.5, and heads roll if I have to stay late to finish work if I'm scheduled that.

I work at a CPA firm.

From January until April 15th, I do not see the daylight. I work at the very least 12 hours days, six days a week. (Usually working from home on Sunday's, the seventh day.)

It's nice now though, we work flex time until October!

Mmm I love overtime, especially since our system is set up by some arcane and outdated formula that results in OT being available with 30 minutes between calls.

                          You can have mine.

Uh, I'll warn you that I'm salaried (exempt), though.

Mine's at standard rate, but it's a decent rate anyway for the region. I go for as much as possible. Managed ten hours this week, though it's looking scarce for next week.
