We used to have an informal one for my work area at the library, but since we've been so short-staffed, and it's usually just me working the closing shift, I can't always get everything done in time (although other staff members do help out).

For us, it is 15 minutes before we close - that we lock the doors and close the blinds. Unless we have a customer in at the time. It takes us exactly 15 minutes to get everything done

I can honestly say I have never worked somewhere that it hasn't taking over two hours to close. No matter how hard I tried at Circuit City and Best Buy we'd always be so overwhelmingly busy that we'd only get half the crap done before it was time to go. Then the managers would get some brilliant idea about re-arranging the shelves and we'd have to re-do the VGA wiring on the monitor display and -shudder-

Then of course at staples, it takes a long time to re-stock pens. Seriously. And guess who was the only one who took initiative and actually did her closing duties before, I don't know, an hour after we closed?

It is a pain in the ass to restock those damn pens. Had to do that everynight at OfficeMax
