These two customers didn't really suck, so I'll stick them here out of the way.
I did a short stint in sales, where I took an order from a food group - member of the public who buys direct, or several people who band together - that included two hundred pounds in weight of good quality sunflower seeds. This was nearly £100, or about $175 or so (can't be bothered looking up the exchange rates).
"They're for the birds," the customer explained.
"Oh, you keep birds?" I asked, making small talk.
"No. For the bird table in the garden. I like to make sure they're best quality for them..."
The only step up from that would be to give them organic stuff...
A bit later I had an email from a customer whowanted to buy some sunflower seeds (see the connection?) for naturally worming their huskies.
We're moving into pet food in a big way!
