but it could go permanent and its just over 8 pounds an hour

    YAY

Im so nervous, Im supposed to have a white shirt but I dont have one so Im going to have to wear black instead until I can go out and buy one

I hope they are ok with that....

Compared to 8 dollars and hour (what I make) is 8 pounds an hour good?

(this poster can never remember converstions... and sucks hardcore at math... and... uh...)

its hard to convert it because where I live, it cost so much to live that it doesnt do it justice

to convert it to Canadian which is pretty close to the US dollar right now it would be $16 an hour

but when you consider that if you looked at my life in Canadaian dollars I pay $866 rent for a room in a house with 5 other people and it costs me $200 to get to and from work each month it all comes out about the same in the end. I think minimum wage here is 5 pounds something an hour.

Yeah... no. I don't, but then again I only fill up every two weeks anyways (I LOVE my saturn )

I'd hope that I would also live close enough to work were I could ride a bicycle. I actually currently do here in Houston, but I don't have a bike.

Its not as good as it sounds... my last job paid me $8 an hour over minimum wage in NZ dollars that is... but still it was nice if I didnt think about it to hard

but I worked hard for it, bloody hard! I earned every single cent

I have to be at the train station by 7:15am tomorrow which is a bit of a bugger but Im sure I will live... oh I have it soo hard (moan complain whinge!)

Huh. £8 is ok, but it depends where you live- cost of living in the uk can be quite high. Housing is expensive cause we have a lot of pressure on space, we have up to 22% tax burden, VAT on a lot of things which is 17.5%.

I earn £12,700 a year, which is over $30,000 US. Boy earns £20,000 whic is around $40,000 US. It doesn't go very far. Our rent is about $1,000 a month (and we're ain a cheap area of a cheap city.), bills take another $1,000 a month.

Even with our recession starting the average house costs £140,000- for a cheap house ($280,000)

My job is good, I make a little over 20 dollars an hour, that's on a casual rate, if I go to permenant it becomes 16 dollars an hour

Well they asked me back for tomorrow (so I cant have sucked at what they asked me to do)

only had two grumpy bitches, without going into too much detail, the place rents out meeting rooms for groups to hire for meetings or upskilling staff etc

one of the 15 meetings today was cancelled and apprently these women DID NOT appricate that they were not called at home before they left to be told it was cancelled and this has happened THREE TIME BEFORE and is it TOO much to ask for some DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

I just stood there with my mouth open and my mind answering them back in a not so pleasant fashion, the person training me told them in a curt tone that they had only just been told at 9am and as a THIRD PARTY VENDOR it is not up to us to ring total strangers and tell them the meetings been cancelled due to illness and if she has a problem with that she can take it up with the tutor who was ill and not with them thank you very much

staff seemed very lovely but very tight knit

im exghausted but I earnt 57 pounds today, that just over half my rent for this week! YAY

if I can get enough temp work in the next month to not have to pay rent out of my savings I will be a very happy chicka!

I felt like such an idiot though, I didnt check my phone on my breaks and there was an offer for 2 weeks sold work and by the time I called back... it was filled.

Silly girl kiwi not checking your phone!
