I'm really friendly to the upstairs manager for the food courts,so heres my question. I've been in the bathroom plenty of times and have seen the employees of the food courts walking out and not washing their hands.I know its the employees because I can see the apron, uniforms, and shoes throught the stall crack. Should I talk to the manager or will it cause more trouble then its worth. We have had a super flu bug going around at work,so thats why I'm concered.Like I said I'm friendly almost flirty with the manager. I just can't go up and eat there because it makes me think everytime I see the employees.

I would report them to someone, that is for sure. That's just gross.

Definitely report them to the manager, that's just disgusting. If the manager doesn't do anything about it (or refuses to) the next step is your local restaurant inspector. Even if there wasn't the flu going around, food handlers not washing their hands isn't ok.
While it might be sucky to report someone for not doing something irrationally arbitrary dreamed up by corporate, washing your hands before handling someone else's food is neither arbitrary nor irrational. If they can't be bothered to wash their hands, they have no business working around food.

Since you are friendly with the manager, you HAVE to drop a quiet word about this.
A truly sucky SC, or worse, a wandering Environmental Health Inspector, could notice and shut the whole store down, and force the company into retraining its staff at ALL outlets. Costing a fortune, and maybe losing the manager his job.
I think most of us who have worked in retail have been so badly misused by the customer that we shrink from being SCs, even when it is appropriate.
Sometimes pissing retail workers off is the right thing to do. (Sorry.)
