I've not visited the CS boards in a couple of months because I returned to school on a full-time basis this semester. Overall, I'm busier due to all of the homework and other projects I have to do as part of my studies. I've also taken on a work-study job as a tour guide at a natural history museum and fossil site affiliated with the university. Despite feeling occasionally overwhelmed by the lack of free time, I'm generally happier because I've cut my hours back at the convenience store where I work. I only work 16 hours a week at the c-store, about two days a week. I actually like working with the public at the museum, but still despise the general public when working at the c-store. It's just different dealing with people at the museum, and I like that kind of interaction so much better. The people I deal with seem APPRECIATIVE, and I've received many compliments from my tour groups about the amount and quality of information I give them about the museum and fossil site. The part I dread is that it's a temporary job. Sure, I can probably continue to work there as a volunteer. However, I have to go where the paycheck is, which means the c-store, once the work-study allowance runs out for the semester. Then, it's back to dealing with the ungrateful dregs of customer service at the c-store.
