  • Something to think about (mainly retail guys and gals)

Ever have a customer come up and ask you where something is and you genuinly dont know....and cant for the life of you explain why you dont know? Simple little things and stuff that should be obviouse that just arent?

Example today. I had a customer come up to me and ask 'Hey dude where are your magnets.' and i was literally stumped. It sounds like a lil mundane thing that my dept store would have but i dont believe we carried it. I kind of blinked at him and said 'Honestly i dont know, i can ask someone else if you like' and he said it was OK and walked off.

Just odd couse i have been there a good almost three years now and i dont think any simple question has ever stumped me like that O.o anyone else?

I get stumped all the time, and I've been working at my place of employment for three years.

It's even worse when they want something that could be in two different aisles, like, say, cranberries (produce aisle OR canned goods).

Oh, the joy I get when I'm walking past the meat department and customers ask me questions about items there.

I was actully like that for about all of last week. I run the register every day for about 3-4 hr's total. And all of last week, I could not remember how to do the stupid little atm machine that we have to use. And ofcourse, most of the people used the damn card, even on something really cheap.

i feel sorry for cashiers at my store as they are only that. Cashiers. They know how much something is whats on sale and how to fix cost problems. But being behind the till all day how are they supposed to know that tide is in aisle 119 upstairs next to the downstairs escalator?

Whats worse is when they guess.....and a customer is pissed when i say 'no sir its downstairs in the corner. next time please dont ask a cashier they kind of work in little boxed areas'
