The stew is not a lie....

Last night at work I was chatting with awesome CSGuy "K". I have known him for years and is on e of the very few people at work I am proud to call "friend"

Anyhoo, I made a Pot of beef stew the other night and I had promised him a bowl. When I saw him I commented that if I had known he was working I would have brought it in.

He goes " I am begining to think that the stew is a lie."

I say "No, the stew is not a lie. The CAKE is a lie!"

Then I had to explain why that was funny.....

"Superstition perceiving inanimate objects as alive, and hallucinations I'm not hallucinating. You are. The companion cube would never desert me. Desert. So long ... Cake. Ha ha Cake. A lie. The companion cube would never lie to me."


Also:

"I'd just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed. There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend the companion cube.

Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either because you don't have any other friends. Because of how unlikable you are.

It says so here in your personnel file: Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. 'Shall not be mourned.' That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official.

It also says you were adopted. So that's funny, too."
