  • Slow time :(

I hate this time of year...there is literally nothing to do.

Would you believe that I'll pulled and re-filed stacks of paperwork over and over today after uttering the words "I've got nothing else fun to do"? We weren't even 20% full tonight, and Thanksgiving week is always one of the slowest for our hotel. Next week is almost as bad, until the weekend. Then there's a huge dead period until New Years Eve.

I never thought I would miss my drunks, but god help me...it's happened

    Aww, poor poor guy...

Should I take a vacation, go get drunk and go to your hotel? Would that make you feel better?

I've been to Salt Lake. I don't need much convincing That said, there's worse places, and the skiing isn't too bad over there

Khiras, should I rub it in that last night we were at 40%

though even that is pathetic... in a 96 room hotel even 100% isn't that much work... so 40% is me sitting here pondering new and unique ways to kill myself if the boredom gets any worse.

oh, and Fenrus, I'm hurt, you're willing to go all the way to Denver to kidnap Khiras when he's bored but won't even drop by to say hi when I'm bored

My flights have been empty...spend most of the time sat in the last row of passenger seats reading.

Sounds fun but soon gets boring!

I actually have work that I could be doing (getting ready for spring construction) but since most of the contractors I work with are too busy getting roofs on their buildings before it gets too cold (and they can work inside), they are ignoring me and my requests for information.

So I've been doing nothing since about 10 AM Friday.

Snicker Smiley...at 17% right now, we had double the occupied rooms of your 100%...and we were still bored to tears We have quite a few rooms though, so you probably still had more fun than us.

And you can come to Denver too, I'm in a kidnapping type of mood now anyway, but it may take both of you to shove me into the trunk of a car

                    <hijack>

So, has anybody ever planned a cross country trip staying at hotels staffed by us, and eating at places staffed by us?

K is the same way at work

everything usually picks up over winter, workers slow way the hell down when its cold outside so most developers get their planning and permits over the winter

hes got 12 projects personally on the go and every single one is waiting for a stamp from the town planners.... same with 2 of the other cad monkeys in his office they sit at their desks and stare into space all day

they cant pick up more than 12 at once because once they are out of planning it will be 16 hour days and panic stations to get them finished asap so they play solitare or desk pingpong until the planners pull their thumb out

I'm starting to think that, as we get towards the slow period for hotels and the busy period for retail, something activates everyone's sexual urges.

Hasn't anyone else noticed the rampant love fest going on in just about every thread lately? Even I have my own loving fans now

                        I can't say I mind much.

Nah, those blatant sexual urges in other threads were completely normal...

They're just seen more often now, cuz we're stuck indoors for longer.

yeah, what he said, Khiras, you've always had loving fans... we just weren't as inclined to express it because we didn't have as much spare time on our hands

We've been lucky if we've run 20% since the weekend. Yesterday it was about 40% I guess. There are hotels here that are speaking about closing their doors until the economy picks back up. I am actually surprised our owners have cut people's hours more then they have. Usually we quiet down enough to have nearly everyone's hours cut this time of year until January.
